Suizen wishes for Kugui to be the editor of the Yokai Encyclopedia's second volume. As for Alk and co., they are meant to watch over Kugui, as her power brought a painting to life and destroyed her village when she was younger- though she doesn't have clear memories of the incident. The group travels to visit Inaho, who demands a battle before she assists them.
